Jewelry design is usually delicate, small, light, decorative, and easy to wear. But when we designers make this design, we realize that what they design may be significant, weird, or even unwearable. It is the cognitive contrast.

No matter which branch a designer produces, the focus is on conveying a concept, an aesthetic, an ideological point of view, some interesting materials, a new type of technology, or the use of some creative form of expression. The size of the external appearance is only a measure of the size of the design output. If there is no specific demand in the theme, there is generally no absolute limit in this regard.


The picture designer above is Zoe Robertson, a contemporary jewelry designer from the United Kingdom. In 2016, she collaborated with independent art dancer Dr. Natalie Garrett Brown to make a bold attempt called flock Omania2. It intended to challenge traditional jewelry and dance boundaries and bring together sound, light, photography, and film artists, using large-scale installation jewelry on-site to create a creative performance display. It creates an immersive environment that encourages performance, audience interaction, and response, where audiences can feel, touch, play, explore and wear.
